Heal the South Bay
YogaSofia is committed to encouraging and assisting individuals who desire abundant health. We believe "health" is not merely the absence of the symptoms of disease; rather, it is the nurturing of the inherent intelligence contained within the body. This intelligence allows the body to be naturally resistant to infection, allergies, injury, and even general "aches and pains."
Rather than shutting down the symptoms of a disease, we believe it best to observe discomfort as a body's profound cry for help. When dealing with pain, we believe that the first question we should ask is, "Where can my body be better supported? How is it not receiving everything it needs to do what it should do on its own-- provide me with strength, energy, and health?
Do I obtain a large amount of fresh, organic, unprocessed food? Do I drink enouch clean water? Do I seek means of releasing the stress I naturally encounter in my life? Do I exercise? Do I stretch? Do I know how to breathe deeply-- and do so? Do I rest? Do I meditate? Do I pray?
Do I obtain regular massage and chiropractic care? Do I avoid using toxic chemicals in my house? When I get sick, do I support my body's attempts to activate my immune system, or do I thwart them by trying to suppress the symptoms of that activation (i.e. runny nose, seeking rest, etc.)?
In short, do I *take measures* on a daily basis to avoid winding up in a doctor's office in the first place? To avoid requiring painkillers? To avoid "getting" another allergy? To protect my children against harmful medicines or immunizations that will damage their immune systems?
We wish to support all people's efforts-- but especially here in the South Bay-- to obtain true health in the fastest, least expensive, and most convenient way possible. We all have too much to do. We all participate in the battle to get adequate sleep, let alone eat properly or take the time to meditate. Yet there ARE things we can do to turn ourselves and others on to the notion that we can feel better! It is worth our time to reprioritize, a little at a time, a week at a time, a month at a time, until a year later, we find ourselves feeling better than we've felt in years. It is possible! We are here to help.
YogaSofia has formed an alliance with other health professionals in the South Bay in order to (a) support their work in bringing us to a state of greater health, (b) educate the public about the benefits of seeking these professional services, (c) create trade-swapping between our staff members to inform and support their own health and capacity to advise clients, and (d) provide both information and discounts to our clients to make it easier and less expensive for them to experience fantastic health.
